2021 Cancelled for this year ONLY!!THANK YOU for your interest in the Everglades Birding Festival. It has been a disappointing year for us ALL and I am sorry to say we will not be having a 2021 festival. This would of been our 14th year. The 2020 festival was our biggest ever and sold out. We have had birders from 40 states and 6 countries. During the festivals we have an average of 160 species, with a high of 174 species in 2017 and a total of 245 different species seen of the years.
The Everglades Birding Festival being small with a maximum of 60, has always focused on a low ratio of expert guides to birder. Our festival is designed to have full day van trips to amazing birding destinations with a yummy picnic lunch. Although we keep the groups small with no more than 12 people, this still does not allow for proper social distancing. Many of our field trips are on boardwalks which also effects social distancing. It is for these reasons that we like many other festivals have canceled for this year only.
If things improve it is our hope that in 2022, we will be offering our special festival in the one of the TOP 10 Birding Destinations in the United States. Early registration starts August 15th and full registration starts on October the 15th. We really look forward to birding with you.
